Usukhjargal Dorj Ph.D.

Dr. D. Usukhjargal is a biologist and wildlife researcher who teaches at the Department of Biology, School of Natural Sciences, National University of Mongolia. She spent more than 20 years at Hustai National Park, where she played a leading role in research on the population dynamics, behavior, and genetics of wildlife species, including the Przewalski's horse and red deer. She has mastered the full range of ornithological field research methods, including mist-netting, banding, and tracking bird migration using satellite and radio transmitters. She has published more than 40 scientific papers and has regularly participated in international training and research collaborations with leading institutions in Germany, the United States, and elsewhere. As a member of the Mongolian Ornithological Society, she provides expert guidance on research methodology and quality control.

Mygmarsuren Shagdarjaw

Sh. Myagmarsuren is a biologist and environmental biological engineer with more than 20 years of experience across the government, private, and both domestic and international non-governmental sectors. Since September 2023, she has served as Executive Director and Project Manager of the Mongolian Ornithological Society, coordinating the Wetland Research and Training Center project and overseeing the implementation and reporting of several conservation projects. She previously worked as a project manager and coordinator for international organizations, including the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) and Action Contre La Faim (ACF), and brings strong skills in project management, strategic planning, and team leadership. She holds a master's degree in Environmental Resources and Development from the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand.

Sainzaya Sainbat

S.Sainzaya represents the younger generation of researchers at the Mongolian Ornithological Society, where she has worked since 2022. She holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Resource Management from the National University of Mongolia and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Biological Sciences at the NUM. She has actively contributed to several major projects, including biological monitoring at wind power facilities, bird and marmot monitoring on agricultural land, implementation of the Ramsar Convention, and baseline biodiversity surveys of specially protected areas, undertaking field data collection and report writing. She has fully trained in standard ornithological field methods, including mist-netting, banding, wing-tagging, and tracking migration via radio and satellite transmitters.
